Senior Cloud AWS Engineer Location : Brisbane

Initial 6 month contract with view to extend

Play a pivotal role in shaping the future of digital services across Queensland Government. The  Senior Cloud AWS Engineer will be responsible fordelivering secure, modern, and highly‑scalable AWS and DevOps platforms — providing expert guidance, technical leadership, and hands‑on engineering across a range of critical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and support of cloud infrastructure and DevOps services using AWS technologies.
• Act as a technical authority, translating business needs into well‑crafted cloud architecture and solution designs.
• Guide platform engineering efforts — from onboarding new customers and assessing emerging technologies, to creating reusable DevOps patterns.
• Mentor and support a team of technical specialists, driving a culture of risk awareness, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver fit‑for‑purpose cloud and DevOps solutions.
• Maintain and evolve environments using secure CI / CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, AWS CodeDeploy, AWS CodePipeline), container services (EKS, ECS, Fargate), and infrastructure‑as‑code (AWS CDK, TypeScript).
• Participate in after‑hours support as required.
