The Planning Manager assists with the delivery of the Department and State government priorities to create a contemporary and strategic planning system for Western Australia communities.
As the Planning Manager you are responsible for the provision of high-level advice on matters relating to planning frameworks, assisting with the strategic development of policy and project management relevant to the directorate and managing the day-to-day operations of the relevant team.
The Department is seeking to establish a pool of experienced Planning Managers. This pool will be used to fill permanent full-time, and fixed term full-time vacancies across the agency and WA public sector for the next 24 months from the initial date of appointment. This process will be used to fill positions immediately in the below teams :
Residential Design Codes
The Planning Manager Residential Design Codes (R-Codes) will, alongside the Director Planning Frameworks, manage delivery of a State Government priority project to review the R-Codes. This is a fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2027.
Planning Frameworks
The Planning Manager Planning Frameworks will deliver initiatives that support a contemporary planning system. This includes solidifying recently implemented planning reforms to maintain a streamlined approach to planning.
Strategic Planning Initiatives
The Planning Manager Strategic Planning Initiatives will work with key State and Commonwealth stakeholders to enable a coordinated approach to planning.
