Disability Support Worker

We provide direct supports to participants on a regular basis and assist other providers to ensure supports are maintained on an as-needed basis.

• Key Responsibilities
• Perform household tasks for participants with disabilities including grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, and transportation.
• Communicate with participants to develop strategies for tasks and schedules that meet their needs.
• Provide personal care assistance including help with personal hygiene, dressing, and attending work or school.
• Assist participants with maintaining care routines and provide physical aid for those with impaired mobility.
• Implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans when required.
• Mentor and be a positive example to participants you support
• Qualifications
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) (highly desirable).
• Minimum 12 months of paid experience in a similar role.
• Experience working with challenging behaviors and neurodiverse participants highly desirable.
• Experience in SIL, private residential, and community-based support.

• Additional Details

This is a sub-contractor position; an ABN and public liability insurance are required.

Full comprehensive car insurance is necessary.

• Currently recruiting for the Cessnock and Maitland areas, with expressions of interest welcome for Newcastle and Lake Macquarie.
