SENIOR PROPERTY AND / OR COMMERCIAL TRANSACTIONAL LAWYER Rennick & Gaynor are a highly respected and established law firm in Hawthorn East and Geelong providing quality legal services since 1919. Rennick & Gaynor advise new, long standing and referral clients in Wills and Estates, Compulsory Land Acquisition, Conveyancing and Property Law, Commercial Transactions, Litigation and Dispute Resolution. We are conveniently located near public transport.
We are seeking a full-time Senior Property and / or Commercial Transactional Lawyer of 5+ years PAE with solid property and / or commercial transactional experience and general commercial intellect to join our expanding business and be part of a dynamic and supportive team culture. We're looking for someone who values client relationships, enjoys a challenge, diverse caseloads and managing your own matters from initial client contact to conclusion.
Experience is preferred across many facets including leases, adverse possession, owners' corporation issues, retirement villages, survivorships and caveats, trust transfers, duties, GST, land tax, SMSF, mortgages, company shares, subdivisions, off-the-plan sales, Registrar of Titles applications, PPSR, sale / purchase of businesses and franchises.

Your tasks would include :
Managing client matters
Drafting property and / or commercial agreements including shareholder and partnership agreements, joint ventures, licence agreements, leases, developments, subdivision and property transfers and statutory declarations / affidavits
Reviewing and drafting written / oral advice
Negotiation of commercial outcomes
Attending client meetings, obtaining instructions and providing legal advice
Attending mediations and settlement conferences
Exploring all settlement options for clients
Instructing expert witnesses and barristers
To be considered for this role the successful applicant will have :
Strong technical experience
Excellent research, drafting and analytical skills
The ability to be adaptable, work autonomously or collaborate in a team
Efficiency in working to deadlines whilst managing client requirements and expectations
Knowledge of State Courts and VCAT procedures as well as use of all Court electronic filing systems
Practical, problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ambitious and motivated
Ability to mentor junior colleagues on practice and procedure
A passion for providing an excellent client experience
