    11) Industrial Spraypainter

    Summary of Role :

    The Industrial Spraypainter is responsible for applying protective or decorative coatings to fabricated metal components, machinery, structural steel, or equipment. This role supports the finishing and corrosion protection of industrial assets, including items used in switchboards, mining plant, or site installations. Work may be performed in a controlled spray booth or on-site in preparation for deployment to remote projects.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, grinding, chemical treatment, or abrasive blasting.
  • Mix and apply industrial paints, coatings, and primers using spray guns, airless sprayers, or electrostatic systems.
  • Apply corrosion protection and colour finishes to fabricated products such as enclosures, support frames, panels, or infrastructure components.
  • Mask and protect non-painted surfaces using tape, film, or covers.
  • Operate within a spray booth or outdoor setting in line with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Check coating thickness, adhesion, and finish quality using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Maintain and clean spray equipment, hoses, guns, and filters.
  • Follow safe handling procedures for hazardous materials (e.g. thinners, paints, solvents).
  • Complete job records, paint logs, and safety documents as required.
  • Collaborate with fabrication and production teams to meet project timelines and standards.

  • Familiarity with paint systems including epoxy, polyurethane, and zinc primers.

    12) Painter (Painting Trades Worker)

    The Painter (Painting Trades Worker) applies protective and decorative finishes to a wide range of surfaces, including walls, ceilings, structures, and industrial surfaces, using various tools and techniques. This role may involve both internal and external work on buildings, facilities, and fabricated components, supporting asset protection, corrosion control, and aesthetic standards for industrial or commercial projects.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare surfaces by sanding, scraping, filling holes, patching cracks, and cleaning as necessary.
  • Apply paint, varnish, stains, protective coatings, or texture coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Match colours and mix paints to required specifications using tinting systems or formulas.
  • Install protective coverings such as masking tape or drop sheets to prevent paint from spilling or overspray.
  • Maintain and clean painting equipment, ensuring correct storage and disposal of paint products and solvents.
  • Perform touch-ups and defect rectification following inspections or project handover.
  • Interpret work instructions, finish schedules, and basic plans or elevations.
  • Apply coatings on fabricated items such as switchboard panels, skids, supports, or other exposed metalwork as needed.
  • Work safely at heights, on ladders or scaffolding, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

    The Storeperson is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, dispatch, and inventory control of materials, tools, and equipment within a warehouse or workshop environment. This role is crucial to ensuring accurate tracking of goods, maintaining stock levels, and supporting logistics for projects across industrial, electrical, and construction operations.

    Key Responsibilities :

  • Receive, inspect, and verify deliveries of materials, tools, and components against purchase orders and delivery dockets.
  • Unpack and store goods safely in designated storage areas, using manual or forklift handling as appropriate.
  • Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for dispatch to project sites, ensuring items are clearly labelled and packed securely.
  • Perform stocktakes, record inventory movements, and update internal systems with stock levels and location details.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in storage areas, including racks, shelves, cages, and tool storage units.
  • Manage project-specific packing lists and coordinate transport arrangements in collaboration with project managers.
  • Ensure that consumables and high-use items are replenished regularly and stocked to required levels.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and lifting equipment safely and in compliance with WHS guidelines.
