The post holder will be responsible for undertaking clinical and administrative duties related to immunisation, primarily delivered on-site for primary and secondary school children in schools and community clinics across Bedfordshire, Luton, and Milton Keynes.
Main duties of the job
- Vaccinate 20 to 25 school children per hour during Flu season.
- Collaborate with the team, organisation, and stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Support the operation of the School Aged Immunisation Service.
- Assist Clinical Lead, Team Lead, and Programme Managers as needed.
- Attend various sites as directed by your line manager.
- Provide effective, evidence-based care to patients.
- Participate in clinical supervision and staff development.
- Report and monitor clinical incidents, near misses, and complaints following organisational policies.
- Participate in audits, make recommendations, and share learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies.
- Contribute to team meetings constructively.
- Perform Gillick Competency Assessments and obtain verbal consent from parents and caregivers.
- Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role.

Job responsibilities

Qualifications
Registered Nurse, Pharmacist, or Allied Healthcare professional with active registration (NMC, GPhC, HCPC).Nursing and / or Midwifery qualification.Basic Life Support certification.Evidence of competencies in relevant vaccinations.Proficiency in administering IM injections.Experience
Ongoing professional development evidence.Knowledge of the Routine National Immunisation schedule.Understanding and implementation of informed consent principles.Knowledge of Cold Chain Policy.Experience working within PGD frameworks.Disclosure and Barring Service Check
