The program provides the successful applicant with individual support to optimise learning and career opportunities. You will have onsite access to a clinical supervisor who will work with you and support you to grow your clinical and professional skills.
As a new graduate, you will spend approximately 6 months working with the Prosthetics team and 6 months working with the Orthotics team under supervision of senior team members.
The successful applicant will engage in the provision of prosthetic and orthotic services on site at APOS. You will be involved in performing diagnostic and clinical examinations, developing rehabilitation treatment plans as well as consulting, manufacturing, repairing and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices. You will also have a valid driver’s licence and be willing to travel to outreach clinics in Wagga Wagga and Dubbo.
Albury Prosthetics Orthotics Service (APOS) is located in Lavington alongside the Southwest Brain Injury Service and provides care to a range of Prosthetic and Orthotic patients of all ages. Specialising in rehabilitation, the service works in collaboration with internal / external referrers and multi-disciplinary allied health teams including high-risk foot clinics, tone and function clinics, operating theatres as well as physiotherapy and orthopaedic services.
