ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Solution Designer, you will design and deliver technology solutions that align with business objectives and architectural standards. You will evaluate existing systems and processes, translate business requirements into scalable solution designs, and provide strategic input to support the successful delivery of key projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of solution architecture and modern project delivery methodologies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand strategic business initiatives and translate them into clear, practical solution designs.
• Analyse existing systems and business processes to identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, and optimisation.
• Design end-to-end technology solutions aligned with business requirements, enterprise architecture standards, and technical constraints.
• Elicit and document functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, and technical specifications, including architecture and integration diagrams.
• Develop and maintain high-quality solution documentation, including solution designs, process flows, and user stories to ensure alignment across teams.
• Partner with the Product Innovation Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure solution outcomes meet business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Interpret and analyse data to inform design decisions and provide recommendations that support successful project delivery.
• Support the development of test plans and test cases, and assist in validating that solutions meet functional and quality standards.
• Proactively identify and escalate risks or issues that may impact timelines, budget, or solution quality, and contribute to effective mitigation strategies.
• Provide regular updates and insights to senior leaders and stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and key design decisions.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure a shared understanding of solution requirements and provide support throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of solution design practices, driving innovation, efficiency, and alignment with industry best practice.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Solid understanding of project management methodologies and their application within business analysis and solution design.
• Ability to conduct impact analysis on major design options and trade-offs, and provide clear recommendations.
• Strong capability to ensure system designs appropriately balance functional and non-functional requirements.
• Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques, including requirements elicitation, process modelling, and data analysis.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and uncertainty to drive positive business outcomes and productive discussions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes within agreed timelines and project constraints.
• Experience using project management software and testing tools.
• Prior knowledge or hands-on experience with CDP implementations will be highly regarded.
Qualifications
• 10+ years’ experience in the IT industry, including at least 3+ years in Solution Design or similar roles.
• Strong systems integration experience, including APIs, SOAP, messaging, file transfer, and cloud-based data movement.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and cloud-native solution design principles.
• Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), or ScrumMaster are desirable but not essential.
• Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments.
