Join our ALS Environmental team in Springvale as a Laboratory Technician, where your expertise will contribute to vital environmental testing. In this hands-on position, you will prepare and analyze water and soil samples while ensuring adherence to ALS Quality Work instructions. Your day-to-day responsibilities include reporting any anomalies, organizing tasks for optimal efficiency, and operating sample preparation equipment. We're looking for candidates with TAFE or University qualifications, ideally with experience in a high-throughput lab setting. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to solve problems effectively are crucial. The day to day
- Preparation and analysis of water and soil samples
- Ensuring preparation and analytical work is conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work
- Instructions.
- Reporting anomalies in results and sample type / behaviour.
- Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies.
- Completing tasks within assigned timeframes and to the relevant analysis standard.
- Operation of sample preparation equipment.
- Undertaking consumable stocktakes and housekeeping for tasks performed
- Participating in cross-training to accommodate variable workflow and staff on leave.
- Contributing to a clean, safe and organised lab environment
