IntershopMelbourne, Victoria, AustraliaIntershop is looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to support and manage complex eCommerce environments for household brands that operate at an enterprise scale.
We are looking for candidates who are excited about running, managing and supporting complex proprietary platforms and are keen to continue growing their technical and interpersonal skill sets.
This role is integral to the success of the team, you will be expected to actively participate in projects to improve systems performance and the level of service our customers receive.
Candidates must demonstrate a high level of initiative, resourcefulness, energy, and the ability to work autonomously. In return for your efforts, we offer a fun, modern, open-plan working environment amongst a dedicated and multi-cultural team.
This is an in-office position based out of our office on Church Street Cremorne . You will have the flexibility to work remotely from time to time but it would be an exception, not the norm. We are a close-knit team that relies on low-latency communication, collaboration and peer up skilling.
This position is part of a follow the sun team , your peers are local and working of our offices in Europe and America. Your start and end time will change based on Australian day light savings.
Responsibilities & Key Duties
As a Junior DevOps Engineer, your responsibilities will be broad and varied. To be successful you will need to have a base knowledge of platform support, Linux systems administration, cloud hosting providers, and are looking to continue to grow both your technical and interpersonal skills.
Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Responding to incidents and support requests as they occur
- Monitor and review customer implementations
- Test and deploy changes to internal systems and customer implementations
- Maintenance servers, Kubernetes cluster and documentation
- Build and support new environments
- Be part of an on-call roaster
- Process documentation
- Write scripts to automate repetitive processes
Intershop is a PaaS and SaaS provider for large and enterprise customers. Our solutions are required to have high level of uptime. To achieve this there is always a staff member on call to cover limited after-hours support, staff are paid additional loading to be on call as well as a paid variable penalty rate to attend to problems if they occur out of hours. From time to time you need to accept escalations from your teammates while you are not on call if they are unable to resolve the problem alone.
