As Commercial Project Manager you will be responsible to manage and perform the financial tasks of small / medium size projects in the Service Operations team, including project performance, operational controlling and process optimization. In this role you will work closely with all Project Managers, Sales, Supply Chain and other commercial colleagues in Australia, with varied experience levels across their career.
You are involved in a variety of activities in supporting financial planning and analysis, such as budget and forecast planning and month- and year-end closing activities, including all relevant project management requirements (e.g., project cost controlling, project cost / price calculations).
Responsibilities
- Ensure the correct revenue recognition and accounting treatment of contracts, variations and change orders; ensure correct implementation of IFRS15 and the Siemens Energy FRG Financial reporting guidelines.
- Ensure accurate project cost controlling and forecasting for projects (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow); contribute to improvement of project controlling tools / practices within team / business areas.
- Ensure compliance with Siemens Energy Internal Control Systems; participate in Internal and External Audits.
- Ensure project execution structures, continuous improvement of relevant processes, procedures and tools in line with project management processes and guidelines.
- Ensure completeness of monthly project review documents and participation in project review meetings; active project cost controlling and issuance of invoices based on project milestones and management of Accounts Receivable.
- Ensure onboarding of vendors and customers according to predetermined timelines and deliverable dates as per project needs.
- Review and follow up on month-end tasks, forecast planning, month- and year-end closing activities; review unprocessed invoices and take necessary actions for month-end closing.
- Monitor foreign currency cash flows; book FX-related impacts to the respective cost collector; prepare FX application forms and update foreign currency forecasting and hedge lists.
- Assist business managers with budget and forecast planning and / or any ad hoc tasks.
- Data reconciliation, processing and input, including maintenance of spreadsheets as required.
- Work within a team environment and support the development of tools and processes needed to work efficiently and effectively.
- Drive forward improvement activity, while collaborating with other departments and internal stakeholders.
What You Bring
High attention to detail and a proactive approach, with the ability to multi-task.Sound knowledge of computer-based systems including Microsoft Office, especially Excel.ERP systems knowledge (in particular SAP) is highly valued.Good ability to present and formulate clearly ideas and proposals for improvements.Strong personal drive to lead and accelerate with a smart perception of business needs.Team player with excellent communication skills and a high level of personal commitment.Degree qualified in Business, Commerce, Accounting or Economics / Finance with at least 3-4 years of professional experience.About The Team
