About The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Contract Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality maintenance and asset management services for a correctional centre in the Central Highlands region of Victoria.
Based in Ararat , VIC , this permanent full-time position oversees a diverse portfolio, including the management of approximately 97,000 assets across the precinct. You will drive operational excellence by managing a blend of self-delivered and subcontracted reactive and preventative maintenance services, while overseeing complex asset lifecycle projects, including end-of-life replacements for a diverse range of assets.
In this role, you will be responsible for overall contract management, leading a team of around 30 staff with four direct reports, ensuring compliance and performance, fostering service innovation, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of maintenance and asset management services for the correctional centre precinct.Oversee the management of precinct assets, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.Manage a mix of self-delivered and subcontracted reactive and preventative maintenance services, driving operational excellence and service innovation.Plan and deliver asset lifecycle projects, including end-of-life replacements and upgrades across a diverse range of assets.Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues promptly.Provide leadership to contract staff, including four direct reports, through clear direction, coaching, and performance management.Monitor and manage financial performance of the contract, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting.Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, mitigate risks, and maintain quality standards.Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as procurement, safety, finance, and HR to support contract success and strategic objectives.About You

With a strong background in maintenance, asset management, or facilities operations, you bring a proactive approach to contract delivery and operational performance. Your ability to lead large teams, manage diverse asset portfolios, and balance self-delivered and subcontracted services demonstrates your strategic mindset. You thrive on building trusted client relationships, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
You will also have :
Proven experience in facilities or asset management, ideally within complex, multi-service environments.Prior experience working within a correctional or secure facility environment is highly desirable.Demonstrated ability to manage trade staff and subcontractor performance, compliance, and service delivery across diverse maintenance categories.Strong client relationship management skills, with a focus on service excellence and account growth.Experience overseeing financial performance of contracts, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.A track record of leading teams, coaching for performance, and fostering a culture of accountability and safety.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, both written and verbal.A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to identify and act on opportunities for operational and commercial enhancement.Cultural alignment with our core values : Personal Safety Leadership, Care & Empathy, Customer Service, Diversity, Inclusion & Equality.About Us
