Working as part of a friendly and close-knit team, you will : Carry out a range of domestic tasks to maintain hygiene standards in a home-like environmentClean residents’ rooms including ensuites, furniture and equipment, as appropriate, and communal and administrative areasEnsure common living areas, hallways, and all other areas of the facility (including front entrance courtyards, verandas) are maintained in a clean and tidy and safe conditionEnsure the safe storage, security and labelling of appropriate cleaning materials in line with the MSDS, and in consultation with the Residential Services Manager, while being aware of the environmental requirements of cleaning products and their disposalReplenish cleaning liquids and materials whilst observing safety proceduresReport stock shortages, breakages, building, equipment or furnishing defects promptly to the Residential Services ManagerWe also have availability in our laundry area for those looking to increase shifts and offer a variety of work.This opportunity is perfect for someone who is looking for casual working hours across a variety of shifts at our Ashwood site, our current vacancies include working from 7am to 2.30pm across all 7 days of the week.Skills & experienceInterpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees, and volunteers; patience; common sense and an understanding of client serviceDemonstrated initiative and ability to work without supervisionWell-developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlinesAbility to operate with discretion and to maintain complete confidentialityCommitment to work as part of a teamBenefitsAs an employee of VMCH you will be provided with ongoing personal and professional development, career pathways opportunities, a positive and supportive workplace culture and excellent salary packaging benefits.About usVMCH are a Catholic not-for-profit organisation, providing services including affordable housing, residential aged care, retirement living, community and disability services and specialist education to 7,600 people across Victoria.
