As a Communications Officer, you will develop and execute effective communication strategies that promote Council's services, projects, and events. Your work will help enhance community understanding and strengthen Council's reputation.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop and implement communications plans for Council initiativesProduce high-quality content for various channels, including websites, media releases, posters, flyers, and magazine articlesWrite speeches and contribute to Council's quarterly magazineManage weekly email newsletters using Campaign MonitorUpload content to the Squiz CMS platformOversee outdoor advertising, including street banners and bus shelter campaignsSupport media inquiries and coordinate photo shootsAssist with social media content creation and publishingIdeal Candidate Profile :
Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, journalism, marketing, or a related fieldExceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skillsExperience developing and implementing communications strategiesAbility to translate complex information into clear, engaging contentProficiency in digital tools such as Campaign Monitor, Squiz CMS, and basic Photoshop (desirable)Strong planning and organizational capabilitiesDigital literacy across relevant software and online platformsFlexibility to attend meetings and events outside standard hoursCurrent driver's licenseApply for immediate consideration.
