Job descriptionGreet and assist visitors, providing accurate information and responding to enquiries in person, by phone, and via email. Manage visitor check-ins and campground operations, including patrols to ensure safety and compliance. Support retail and hospitality operations at the Tidal River General Store , including : Customer service and point-of-sale transactions Barista coffee making Preparing and serving a range of hot and cold food Stocking shelves, checking product expiry dates, and maintaining store cleanliness Contribute creative ideas to enhance and grow the general store’s retail and hospitality offering. Conduct tours and deliver engaging interpretive experiences Perform light housekeeping and grounds maintenance within the Light station precinct. Assist with operational duties across sites including the Visitor Centre and others Personable, adaptable, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service in a dynamic, outdoor environment. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and inform visitors from diverse backgrounds. Comfortable working collaboratively in a team and problem-solving on the spot. Experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality is highly regarded. Physically able to undertake duties that may include walking, lifting, and housekeeping tasks. Prepared to work rostered shifts including weekends, public holidays, early mornings, and evenings. A valid Employee Working with Children Check and National Police Check are required. Unique Aspects of the Role The Wilsons Promontory Light station is accessible only via a 3 km walking track and requires overnight stays for multiple nights during rostered shifts. Casual Loading
Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
