About the position The City's Parks and Environment branch is seeking an experienced Environmental Officer to develop and implement strategic environmental initiatives and provide technical advice on the protection, rehabilitation and management of the City's natural areas, in line with management plans and policies.

In this position, you will provide expert environmental advice for City projects involving environmental impact assessments, analysis and interpretation of technical issues within legislative requirements and best environmental management practice.

What we are looking for To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate :

Ability to develop strategies, management plans and other strategic documentsDemonstrated knowledge and experience in the technical assessment of environmental impactKnowledge and ability to interpret relevant environmental management legislation, policies and guidelinesExperience undertaking environmental approval processesExperience in liaising with consultants and contractorsHigh-level communication skills to be able to produce and review technical documentsExcellent organisation and time management skills.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.Degree in Environmental Management or equivalentDriver's licenceWhite CardCurrent Police Clearance (less than three months old).
