Occupational Therapist Level 1-2 : $76,364.00 - $108,943.00 per annum

Psychologist : $80,452.00 - $117,755.00 per annum

Registered Nurse : $74,317.94 - $104,336.27 per annum

Social Worker Level 1-2 : $76,364.00 - $108,943.00 per annum

The Older People’s Mental Health (OPMH) Community Teams are a significant component of mental health services in SWSLHD. You will be working in the community with older adults experiencing mental health issues who may be living in their own homes, with family, or in RACF. You will be providing recovery-oriented, person-centred biopsychosocial care planning and interventions reflected in all aspects of your practice and service delivery. You will have previous experience working with older adults in a health or community setting, including experience of assessment, care planning and interventions which are appropriate for and effective with older adults experiencing mental ill health. Previous experience in a care coordination role will be of benefit.

Being a pool clinician is unique! You will be filling a vacancy in the team listed; as other vacancies arise throughout our service you may be required to transfer into another position and share your skills within our service!

You will be based at Liverpool, however future opportunities may also present at Ingleburn, Campbelltown, Ambarvale, Bansktown, Fairfield and Wollondilly based mental health services.

What You'll Be Doing

The Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing evidence-based, strengths focused, recovery oriented assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and coordinating consumers’ recovery plans. The role is also responsible for non-clinical tasks including participation in quality improvement activities, clinical supervision and participation in administrative responsibilities as required.

Where You'll Be Working

SWSLHD Community Mental Health Services provide comprehensive, community-based mental health care across South Western Sydney.

These services cater to different age groups, including children, adolescents, adults, and older persons, ensuring specialised care throughout various life stages. The multidisciplinary teams offer a range of supports, including mental health assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and therapy. They work closely with inpatient services, GPs, and other community organisations to provide holistic care.

The focus on community health and wellbeing makes SWSLHD Community Mental Health Services an ideal place to work, providing opportunities for professional growth and the chance to make a meaningful impact on the community.

  • Relevant qualifications as a Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), or qualified Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or CSU Graduates : Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health).
  • Please provide a detailed description of your interest and motivation in applying for this role highlighting your relevant skills & experience in providing assessment and treatment for consumers of the mental health service.
  • Using an example, describe a time where you have had to work as part of a team to solve a problem. Outline the communication skills used and how you ensured the problem would not occur again.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
