Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Engineer to manage the Pre-Opening and then ongoing Engineering & Maintenance team at the new Hilton Palm Cove Resort & Spa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the hotel’s infrastructure, systems, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Technical Operations
- Oversee maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs.
- Ensure fire safety systems and emergency protocols are fully operational.
- Monitor energy usage and lead sustainability initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with environmental and building regulations.
Project & Operational Management
Project / Construction Coordination for Pre-Opening including compliance & handover documentation.Lead capital improvement projects and renovations including asset commissioning & systems setup.Manage departmental budgets and control operational costs including vendor & contractor management.Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts.Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities and inspections.Leadership & Team Development
Recruit, train, and supervise engineering staff.Foster collaboration with other departments to support hotel operations including owning company engagement.Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship.Guest Experience
Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests.Ensure all guest‑facing areas are maintained to luxury standards.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with minimal disruption.Strategic & Innovation Focus
Stay current with building codes and industry regulations.Integrate new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.Recommend upgrades and process improvements.Qualifications
Degree or certification in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior engineering role within a luxury hotel or similar 24 / 7 customer focused environment.Strong knowledge of building systems and safety regulations.Proven leadership and project management skills.Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.What We Offer
