Consultant Paediatrician (Adolescent Medicine) Secondment backfill

About the Role
This is a part‑time fixed‑term position for 14 hours per fortnight within the Department of Adolescent Medicine. The secondment backfill begins on 5 / 01 / 2026 and concludes on 2 / 01 / 2028. The role is responsible for providing high‑quality evidence‑based care to young people and their families in both inpatient and outpatient settings and for providing leadership and training to junior medical staff, nursing and allied health staff. You will take one weekly outpatient clinic, be on primary on‑call roster and provide secondary on‑call support for the Adolescent Medicine Fellows.
Wednesday is the required work day due to mandatory meetings and clinic room allocation.
Classification for this position ranges from Consultant Year 1 – Year 9.

About the Department
The Department of Adolescent Medicine, The Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, is a multidisciplinary specialty department providing inpatient and outpatient care to adolescents experiencing both physical and mental health concerns. Sub‑specialty teams within the department include the Eating Disorders Service, the Gender Service, the Transition Support Service, the Young People’s Health Service, and the Chronic Illness Peer Support (ChIPS) team.
