About the Role

You will join a 32-bed acute neuroscience ward with 10 close observation and 22 general ward beds, delivering expert care for neurosurgical, neurological and acute stroke conditions. The role offers exposure to complex cases including stroke, brain injuries, brain tumours, and other neurological presentations. You will participate in a collaborative, knowledgeable team focused on mentorship, continuous learning, and professional development through structured competency programs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide safe, effective nursing care in a fast-paced neuroscience environment, including assessment, monitoring, medication administration, procedure assistance, and patient education. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement care plans, manage complex clinical scenarios and support patients and families. Participate in orientation, ongoing training, and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills fostering positive teamwork and collaboration.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a supportive team environment.
• Flexibility and reliability to work a variety of shifts across a seven-day roster.
• Previous neuroscience nursing experience highly regarded but not essential.
