Disability Support Worker

Disability support workers provide support services that fulfil the living, social and reactional requirements and needs of people living with a disability. To enable personal development and honing of skills, a carer will promote community interaction and inclusion, independence, personal growth and decision making.

• Key responsibilities and duties :
• Promote residents participate in age appropriate activities and tasks within the community and at home
• To help the resident engage in outings and daily activities and promote involvement in the community
• Provide direct care in accordance with the NDIS plan
• Abide by the medication administration policy, WHS procedures and client rights policies
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of resident by reporting any issues and concerns to the appropriate persons
• Provide 1 : 1 care or small group support
• Ensure documentation and information relating to the resident is accurately and appropriately recorded

Mandatory requirements :

A working permit is required for those on a special visa (e.g. student visa)
