Quality, Health & Safety Manager

Role at MCC Label (Box Hill plant)

Overview

MCC Label is a global leader in label manufacturing for FMCG, pharmaceutical, and hospitality sectors. As the Quality, Health & Safety Manager you will oversee product quality, process compliance, and workplace health and safety across our IML production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the Quality Management System (ISO 9001, HACCP, BRC, GMP) and document control.
  • Oversee QC and QA processes, including incoming material inspection and supplier quality.
  • Investigate non‑conformances, customer complaints and implement CAPA.
  • Conduct internal audits, support external inspections, and liaise with regulators and certification bodies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor workplace health and safety programs (ISO 45001).
  • Perform risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations to foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, reporting CI metrics and identifying efficiency gains.
  • Train and coach team members on quality, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and present quality and safety performance reports to management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a quality and / or safety role in manufacturing (printing, plastics, packaging, or IML preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, BRC, and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Proven experience with audits, CAPA, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methods (Six Sigma, 5S).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Tertiary qualification in Quality Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with machinery safety, chemical handling, and IML production is an advantage.
