About The Opportunity

Become a champion for our local ecosystems! We’re excited to offer a rewarding opportunity for a passionate Bush Regeneration Trainee to join our team on a term contract, full‑time basis for up to 2 years, and make a lasting impact on our City.

You Will

• Embark on a comprehensive learning journey, undertaking and successfully completing your Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management through a leading Registered Training Organisation
• Play an active role in the regeneration and revegetation of bushland and Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) sites across Blacktown City. Your work will include site preparation and planting, targeted weed control, and the ongoing maintenance of bushland reserves, WSUD sites, and constructed wetlands
• Gain practical experience in cleaning Gross Pollutant Traps (GPTs), planting macrophytes (aquatic plants), collecting seeds from endemic plant species, and native plant propagation
• Learn about the safe and effective use of herbicide applications
• Have the opportunity to conduct vegetation site assessments and provide valuable technical support to Council’s bushcare and nursery programs
