About Girrawheen Senior High School (SHS)

The Role

The successful applicant will create a differentiated, challenging, caring learning environment that supports all students to achieve and progress. As a Quality Teaching Strategy Lead School, you should be familiar with the Teaching For Impact framework and understand what effective teachers believe, know, and do to enable student success. You will be expected to teach Years 7–12 across a variety of ability levels, ideally in ATAR Chemistry and / or Human Biology, and will support the school’s business plan, whole‑school initiatives, and explicit model of instruction. You should actively participate in professional learning opportunities, reflect on practice, and articulate a clear vision supporting the school’s culture of high‑quality teaching and learning.

Eligibility

  • hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.
  • apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
