Transport Coordinator (Hexham)

We are looking for a motivated Transport Coordinator to join our high-performing team at our Hexham branch.

Role Overview

As our Transport Coordinator, you'll be at the centre of our logistics operations. From scheduling and dispatching through to liaising with drivers and customers, you'll ensure our fleet runs smoothly and deliveries happen on time.

This is a fast-paced, office-based role (Monday to Friday, 7am-5pm) where every day brings a new challenge—and the opportunity to make a real impact.

Daily Duties

  • Coordinate daily transport runs for Tilt Trays and Low Loaders.
  • Plan efficient routes to maximise utilisation and meet delivery timelines.
  • Communicate clearly with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve transport-related issues as they arise.
  • Manage costs, resources, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify process improvements and implement smarter solutions.
  • Provide outstanding customer service with proactive follow-ups.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Transport Coordination or a similar role.
  • Knowledge of load management and route planning (advantageous).
  • Strong knowledge of Newcastle and surrounding areas.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence with MS Office (Word, Outlook) – CRM or hire-based systems a plus.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and customer service skills.
  • A proactive, safety-first mindset with the ability to prioritise and adapt.
  • (Typing speed and accuracy testing will be required for shortlisted candidates.)
