Start Term 1 2026 | Permanent Full time | Reports to Head of Junior School.
Abbotsleigh is a pre‑kindergarten to Year 12 Anglican day and boarding school for girls located in Wahroonga, on Sydney’s North Shore.
At Abbotsleigh, our Junior School teachers play a vital role in creating an energetic and engaging learning environment that inspires a passion for scientific inquiry. Starting in 2026, this role involves designing and delivering innovative lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles, promoting critical thinking, and encouraging personal development. Teachers will assess student progress through various methods, provide constructive feedback, and adapt strategies to meet individual needs.
The successful applicant will foster a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages enthusiasm for Junior School while actively participating in professional development and contributing to the school’s educational community.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge, competence and confidence in primary pedagogy.
- Be well‑versed in NESA guidelines, with a strong grasp of curriculum and relevant standards.
- Integrate technology and contemporary resources to enhance learning and keep the curriculum relevant and engaging.
