Overview
Our Business Affairs Department currently has a vacancy for a Legal & Product Compliance Coordinator to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Reporting into the Manager – User Safety & Product Compliance and working closely with the Legal Team, wider Business Affairs Department, managers, and team members of other departments, this role is responsible for coordinating and performing a variety of regulatory affairs and legal tasks to help ensure Nintendo Australia products and services continue to be compliant with Australian and New Zealand laws, regulations, standards, and ethical obligations.
This role also supports Nintendo Australia’s regulatory compliance and product legal clearance needs through research, monitoring, and a range of other tasks that support legal requirements and manage risk.

Responsibilities
- Identifying and addressing applicable testing, certification, and registration requirements for consumer electronics and other products and merchandise.
- Actioning regulatory compliance requests from global head office – liaising with stakeholders, researching relevant laws, regulations, and standards, completing assigned tasks and formulating advice.
- Preparing and maintaining compliance records for products and merchandise.
- Supporting with meeting the requirements of Australia and New Zealand online safety laws, regulations and standards.
- Actively monitoring developments in laws, regulations, standards, court cases and government policy, including product safety, electrical and radiocommunications, privacy, online safety, cyber security, contract law, consumer and fair trading, import and export regulations, mandatory labelling requirements, etc.
- Considering proposed regulatory reforms and contributing to submissions.
- Researching and advising on legal clearance topics.
- Liaising with global head office and overseas subsidiaries as required to assist on global matters and obtain / provide instructions and information.
- Preparing and drafting of contracts, templates, and other legal documentation.
- Drafting Terms and Conditions for competitions and other promotions.
- Working with overseas teams and legal counsel on responses to instances of unauthorised use of Nintendo intellectual property.
- Reviewing marketing materials to help ensure ongoing compliance with Australian Consumer Law and the New Zealand Fair Trading Act.
- Assisting with enquiries from the Consumer Support team.
- Processing of payments to external legal advisors.
- Completing general administrative duties and supporting the wider Legal Team with various tasks as required.
Qualifications
To succeed in the role , you will require :A minimum of 12 months’ prior experience in a compliance, regulatory affairs, or legal role - or a similar position involving interaction with external and / or internal regulation (preferably within the private sector).A demonstrated ability to work autonomously and competently identify and fulfil regulatory compliance objectives.Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, initiative and resourcefulness.Strong analytical abilities and comprehension skills to understand complex regulatory requirements, make reasonable inferences, and put theory into practice.Exceptional time management, organisational skills, and a strong work ethic.The ability to consistently adhere to confidentiality and privacy requirements in all aspects of work.Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, engineering, or a related discipline are highly regarded.Benefits
