Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Leasing Lawyer to join a well-regarded national law firm’s Melbourne Property team. Working closely with a highly respected property team, you’ll be part of a collaborative and high-performing team advising a diverse client base across a broad range of leasing matters.

This role is ideal for a property lawyer with at least 2 years’ post-admission experience who is looking to deepen their expertise in leasing and work on high-quality matters in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of leasing documentation, including retail, commercial, and industrial leases
  • Advise landlords, tenants, and property managers on leasing strategy, compliance, and disputes
  • Assist with property transactions involving lease due diligence and leaseback arrangements
  • Liaise with clients, agents, and stakeholders to deliver commercially sound legal solutions
  • Support the broader property team on complex matters and contribute to business development initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

  • 2+ years’ post-admission experience in property law, with a focus or strong interest in leasing
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • A commercial mindset and ability to provide practical, client-focused advice
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to legal practice
