One of Australia’s largest electrical & communications contractors is looking to engage the services of an Electrical Engineer – Substation Design with experience in Substation and High Voltage Infrastructure Design.About YouTo be successful in this position, you will possess : Capability to thrive in a collaborative and inclusive team environment.A willingness to learn new skills, share your knowledge and mentor team members.Extensive experience in a similar role in the Energy / Electrical and / or Utilities Industry.Complete knowledge and application of current overhead and underground design philosophies, procedures, Australian standards and statutory requirements including Safety in Design.Demonstrated experience in utilising analytical skills and technical knowledge to provide appropriate solutions to technical / engineering issues.Key responsibilities will include : Delivering the design of large to medium scale high voltage infrastructure projects including the engineering of : System analysis and studiesEarthing systemsSubstation primary, protection and control systemsSecondary schematics and panel designLow Voltage AC and DC systemsUnderground and overhead collector systemsLeading electrical equipment specification and procurement activities, coordinating suppliers and subcontractors.Understanding your WHS responsibilities and actively promoting and supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and others.Providing technical support to fellow Engineers and project teams.Ensuring all designs / documentation meet the relevant standards AS / IEC.Providing engineering support to project electrical works including engineering investigations, site inspections, compliance and problem-solving capabilities.What we are looking for : Australian recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical).Proven experience in electrical infrastructure engineering design for HV substation projects, with a focus on primary system design (highly regarded).Working knowledge of ETAP, PSCAD and any other design software would be highly regarded.Ability to carry out Arc Flash Studies.Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.Strong attention to detail in the delivery of effective and high-quality designs.Strong ability to mentor engineers to develop capabilities.Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.Proof of right to work in Australia.#J-18808-Ljbffr
