VMware Automation Engineer

Job Description

Our client focused on National Security is looking for a VMware Automation Engineer with Positive Vetting level clearance (PV) for a 12month contract (with extension options) to operate from their Canberra location.

The successful candidate will work as a VMware Automation Engineerto assist in the VMware platform strategic modernisation to provide enhanced selfservice capabilities for the organisation. To transition to streamline cloud service provisioning reduce manual tasks and enhance operational efficiency. This shift aims to empower users with an automated userfriendly selfservice portal for requesting deploying and managing cloud resources. They will :

• Automation & Orchestration : Expertise in VMware Aria Automation (vRealize Automation)workflow orchestration and infrastructureascode (IaC) using Terraform or Ansible.
• Scripting & API Integration : Strong proficiency in PowerShell Python or Bash for automation along with experience in integrating RESTful APIs with cloud and IT systems.
• SelfService & CI / CD : Experience developing selfservice portals integrating with security tools andleveraging CI / CD pipelines for automation.
• Cloud Infrastructure & Security : Deep understanding of VMware vSphere NSX vSAN and VCF security best practices RBAC IAM and compliance frameworks like Essential Eight.
• Monitoring & Business Continuity : Ability to integrate automation with logging alerting andmonitoring tools ensuring high availability failover strategies and selfhealing automation.
