Contract Specialist - Project Delivery

Mills Recruitment is partnering with a global engineering and construction leader to source an experienced Contract Specialist – Project Delivery for a key project in the Pilbara. This is a minimum 12-month contract with strong potential for extension, working on a high-profile machinery replacement project at Rio Tinto’s West Angelas site.

The Project :

West Ang Machine Replacement D” is a critical infrastructure initiative to upgrade essential machinery at Rio Tinto’s West Angelas mine, ensuring safe, efficient, and ongoing operational success.

The Role :

As the Contract Specialist – Project Delivery, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end contract lifecycle across major packages, playing a key role in commercial risk mitigation, supplier management, and supporting seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead preparation and review of bid request packages
• Develop and maintain project-specific contract operating procedures
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards
• Track project progress and perform regular commercial forecasting
• Resolve contract-related issues in a timely and commercially sound manner
• Oversee full lifecycle subcontractor management, from negotiation to execution
• Enforce adherence to Supply Chain Assignment Schedule and work processes
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to drive outcomes
• Provide expert input on risk management and contractual decision-making
