Selection Criteria

  • Capacity to undertake support tasks in an intervention program such as Quicksmart Literacy (SC1).
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively with members of the school community, including students, and to provide support and / or attendant care to students where necessary (SC2).
  • Proficiency in the use of office systems, software or technical equipment relevant to the position, such as Compass (SC3).
  • A commitment to professional learning and growth (SC5).

Role

Provide classroom support in the Quicksmart Literacy program. Tasks are guided by well‑documented procedures and established practices. Deviation from procedures requires consultation with supervisors. The role is independent and does not involve supervision of students unless in small, controlled groups.

Responsibilities

  • Support students within the Quicksmart Literacy program.
  • Assist with the preparation of students’ timetables.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to support student literacy testing.
  • Provide individual or group assistance in specific learning areas.
  • Facilitate communication between students and teachers.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Help prepare student resources and equipment.
  • Observe students and alert teachers to concerns.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating program outcomes.
  • Support equipment procurement and purchasing of materials and supplies as required.
  • Work 5 days per week (30.4 hours).
