This is a temporary opportunity open to Australian Public Service employees only, including employees who are able to transfer to Comcare via Section 26 under the Public Service Act 1999, either at level or on Higher Duties.
The Director Capability Review Program will lead a small team to engage with senior management, business areas, relevant consultants and other key stakeholders to deliver a Capability Review for Comcare.
The Director, Capability Review will lead an independent, forward-looking review that will assess the organisation’s ability to meet future objectives. The Review aims to facilitate discussions around an organisation’s desired future state, highlight organisational capability gaps and identify opportunities to address them. They will also provide high level expert and strategic advice and support to a Senior Reviewer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer and wider executive.

Desirable Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Strategic HR, Leadership or Public Sector Management will be highly regarded.
- Baseline Security Clearance is desirable for this role.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop, drive and lead the implementation approach for a self-initiated Capability Review for Comcare, using the APS Capability Review Framework as a guide for implementation.Operate under broad direction and exercise a significant degree of independence.Prepare and review advice, briefs and reports on complex matters relevant to the Review to various governance committees.Develop and maintain an extensive understanding of Comcare's responsibilities, strategic objectives and operational outcomes.Provide strategic advice to Comcare senior management relating to the Review.Establish and maintain key strategic internal and external stakeholder relationships.Lead and manage a small team, including developing, coaching and mentoring team members.Role Criteria
Extensive experience in the public sector or demonstrated understanding of the public sector operating environment with a focus on organisational strategy and capability.Highly developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills and proven ability to build and maintain relationships.Excellent decision making and judgement skills with a positive results orientation.Highly developed written and communication skills with the ability to negotiate and communicate with influence.
