This role is based in the Financial Operations team in Macquaire Park - Sydney, which is responsible for the Record to Report, ‘R2R’, function for Consumer Australia and Enterprise Australia.
The team are accountable for ensuring that Financial and Customer related data is appropriately captured within SAP to comply with Accounting and International Standards, supports Optus, Singtel and Regulatory reporting requirements and analysis, and is timely and accurate.
The Day to Day
- Ensuring the integrity of the P&L for the area of accountability
- Ensuring all allocated balance sheet reconciliations are prepared in accordance with Optus policy
- All issues identified through reconciliations are raised and addressed.
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations contain meaningful representations and a clear and concise understanding of Optus’ assets and liabilities
- Ensuring master data management processes are followed and controls are effective
- Finance business partnering function providing support to Commercial Directors in driving the performance of the business through correct accounting processes and utilisation of SAP
- Contribute to the quarterly forecasts & AOP process with specific inputs related to area of responsibility
- Knowledgeable of SAP Financial system and other systems
- Contribute to the preparation and presentation of the weekly trading forecasts
- Focus on process improvement
About you
Degree Qualified within Finance, Accounting Commerce with a CA or CPAProven experience within a Commercial Accounting roleTelco experience or experience in IT / project-based industriesStrong financial acumen with a good understanding of SAPSolid technical accounting skills
