Position Information
Newling Public School is a progressive and successful school on the outskirts of Armidale. The school serves the community of East Armidale and provides an alternative learning centre for students who travel from other parts of the town. Newling Public School has a current enrolment of 160 students and is sitting at about 65% Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander students.
The school caters Kindergarten to Year 6 students and promotes a supportive, caring atmosphere that provides an appropriately challenging learning environment for diverse students. Team teaching, student voice and individualised instruction are areas of focus. The school staff are firmly committed to the school's emphasis on supporting all students and improving the outcomes achieved by every student.
The Teacher - Hearing Impairment position is based at Newling Public School and travels to support students who are hearing impaired across a range of school settings, including those prior to school‑age, preschool, primary school, high school, schools for specific purposes (SSP), and support classes. The suitable applicant requires their own vehicle, a current driver’s licence, and a willingness to travel between work sites.

A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
Employment Flexibility
Applicants seeking either permanent full‑time or permanent part‑time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part‑time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept.
