Your New Role and Responsibilities

The Air Component Command and Control Capability System (AC-C2CS) is a mission‑critical suite of software applications that enables the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to effectively plan, prepare, execute, manage, and report on aviation operations.

As a Systems Administrator, you will ensure the smooth operation of multi‑user computer systems and collaborate closely with network administrators. This role involves maintaining system performance, supporting critical services, and contributing to automation initiatives.

• Manage and maintain multi-user computer systems, including setting up administrator and service accounts and maintaining system documentation.
• Monitor and optimise system performance, ensuring reliability and efficiency across Linux / RedHat environments.
• Provide technical support for core services, including print services, Exchange administration, and project-related activities.
• Develop and enforce policies and standards for resource allocation and system usage.
• Evaluate vendor products and contribute to automation projects, providing technical input and recommendations.

What You’ll Bring to Make an Impact

• Specialist expertise in Linux / RedHat systems, ideally supported by a RedHat Certification (RHCE).
• Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience across relevant technologies and domains.
• Comprehensive understanding of technical principles, including hardware and software practices, and ability to interpret technical drawings.
• Proficiency in MS Office and related software tools, with intermediate-level skills.
• Experience with VMWare (desirable)
