Salary : Teacher, $85,610 - $124,016 per annum (pro‑rata) (SEA GA 2023)

The Role

Brentwood PS is seeking a contemporary and engaging Science Teacher to join our teaching team. As a member of our team, you will ideally be a conscientious, flexible and innovative teacher who is committed to the development of the whole student. You will be actively involved within the school and wider community, being highly reflective of your teaching practices and committed to evidence‑based decision making and differentiation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a hands‑on, inquiry‑based science programme closely aligned with the Western Australian Science Curriculum (Years 1‑6). The programme should have a strong focus on Science Inquiry Skills – students plan and conduct fair tests, collect data, and communicate findings using scientific language.
• Coordinate Science Week as a whole‑school celebration, fostering curiosity, creativity and community engagement.
• Build on existing sustainability and STEM initiatives developed in previous years.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers (including pre‑primary) and support staff to ensure science learning is accessible, inclusive and linked across learning areas.
• Design engaging lessons and projects within a budget aligned to Operational Planning and the school’s Strategic Plan.
• Establish strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community; contribute to the wider life of the school.
