About the Role:

MSS Security is currently seeking Full-Time & Casual Armed Security Officers to join our team at a high-profile, secure government facility in Melbourne’s north. In this important role, you will help maintain the safety and security of staff, visitors and property.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to ensure the premises remain secure and free from incidents.
  • Monitor and control entry points, verify identification, and conduct security screenings to prevent unauthorised access.
  • Accurately document any incidents or security breaches, ensuring they are communicated to the appropriate personnel.
  • Undertake the day-to-day operations of the control room, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
  • Coordinate emergency response activities and ensure timely action.
  • Enforcing up to date Site Standing Orders and communicating changes of policy, procedures, and operating requirements.
  • Ensuring that all incidents are reported through the correct channels and the appropriate actions are taken.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Strong understanding of various CCTV, access control systems and investigation is highly desired.
  • High quality report writing is essential.
  • A professional demeanour and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • The physical capability to conduct regular patrols and remain at static posts for extended periods.

Requirements:

  • Full Australian working rights.
  • Current Victorian Security Licence with the control room subcategory.
  • Certificate III in Security Operations.
  • Availability to work a rotating 24/7 roster.
  • Current Victorian Firearms Licence (or willing to obtain).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willing to obtain).
  • Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain).
  • White Card (or willing to obtain).
