The Role
You will provide psychological support services to persons with substance use issues in our Immigration Detention centre clinic. Key responsibilities :
Deliver evidence-based psychological services through assessment, case formulation and case management, structured interview techniques and therapeutic interventionsTriage referrals; conduct D&A assessments; follow-up persons with identified D&A issuesEnsure D&A protocols are followed and for people deemed to be 'at risk', ensure that their needs are met in a timely and appropriate mannerEnsure high standards of psychological care are delivered through individual sessions or in group therapy; administration of psychometric instruments and self-report measures etcProvide clinical reports to internal and external stakeholders when requiredBenefits

Full working rights in Australia and current general APHRA registration with the Psychology Board of AustraliaMinimum of 3 years post registration experience and experience with working with patient with substance use issues or in a D&A settingExperience in providing relevant supportive and therapeutic counselling, and psychosocial interventionsSkills in D&A assessment and intervention (motivational interviewing, contingency management, other intensive psychosocial therapies) and MH risk assessmentSMART Recovery facilitator – highly desirable or willing to obtainCurrent First Aid / BLS certificate or willingness to obtainDon’t miss out this unique opportunity, click Apply now!
