Programme Manager – Datacom Canberra
Location : Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia
Datacom Canberra invites applications for the Programme Manager role. The Programme Manager coordinates all aspects of a programme, from inception to delivery, ensuring quality, contractual, and budget compliance across multiple IT projects. Security clearance for Australia is required.
Responsibilities :
- Establishing and managing effective project operations to deliver quality outcomes.
- Managing a team of project employees operating on IT projects in a complex, multiplatform technical environment.
- Controlling project design and planning activities for small to medium sized applications and infrastructure development projects.
- Defining, sourcing and managing necessary project resources.
- Controlling project schedules to ensure necessary modules and programs are completed according to the project plan.
- Preparing project budgets, attaining necessary approvals in a timely manner and monitoring project financials and the realization of defined project benefits.
- Effectively controlling and managing issues, risks, dependencies and changes in scope associated with IT projects.
- Managing change plans and business impact assessments.
- Overseeing the business continuity plan within the functional area, including development, review, update and testing & training.
- Identifying events that may impact the business continuity plan, leading to plan review and update.
- Establishing, managing and reporting on project budgets, analysing budget variances and recommending appropriate action.
- Exceeding stakeholder expectations through the application of stakeholder management disciplines.
- Developing and managing vendor contracts / agreements associated with projects under management.
- Providing guidance and advice to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies to meet schedules and resolve technical problems.
- Liaising with senior staff within client organisations regarding provision of computing services within negotiated contractual obligations for a programme or group of projects.
- Drawing up a project plan for approval by the customer.
- Controlling system design and project planning activities related to large systems development.
- Maintaining and controlling cost, schedule and quality of project activities to run on budget, time, and meet agreed customer requirements.
- Managing phases of software development including requirements analysis, system design, specification, development, testing and implementation.
- Responsible for implementing a principle‑driven health and safety culture that cares for employees and ensures their safety in line with Datacom policy.
- Takes reasonable care that their actions (or inactions) do not harm the health and safety of themselves or others. Reports all incidents, hazards or unsafe work practices as per Datacom policy.
Requirements :
