Spray Painter/Fitter

07th September, 2026

Not your average role—premium work, top pay, and a rare chance for skilled painters with fibreglass or fit-out experience at our Direk facility.

We're Hiring: Experienced Spray Painter – Premium Role (Day Shift)
Top rates. Specialist work. Long-term opportunity.
Freighter Group is one of Australia’s leading manufacturers in the road transport industry, recognised for delivering high-quality trailer and transport solutions nationwide.
Due to continued growth, we’re seeking a highly skilled Spray Painter to join our Direk team — this is not your average spray painting role.
We’re looking for someone with specialist experience who takes pride in producing exceptional finishes and wants to be part of a business that values craftsmanship.

Pay Rate: $34 – $40 per hour + overtime available

Why This Role Stands Out
This is a rare opportunity to step into a role working on large-scale transport equipment with a business that invests in its people, equipment, and standards.
If you’ve got experience beyond basic spray work — particularly in fibre glassing or vehicle fit-out — you’ll be highly valued here.

The Role

• High-quality spray painting on trucks, trailers, and transport equipment

• Surface prep, priming, masking, and finishing to a premium standard

• Working with industrial two-pack systems

• Contributing to builds where quality and durability matter

• Collaborating with skilled trades across the production team

What We’re Really Looking For

This role suits someone who is hard to find — a tradesperson who combines technical skill with pride in workmanship.
You’ll ideally bring:

• Proven spray painting experience (trade qualified or equivalent)

• Strong background in industrial or heavy vehicle painting

• Experience with two-pack paint systems

• Fibreglass repair or finishing experience (highly regarded)

• Automotive fit-out / body assembly experience (strong advantage)

• Ability to work independently and maintain high standards under pressure

What You’ll Get

• Above-market hourly rate ($34 – $40/hr) for the right candidate

• Consistent day shift hours + overtime

• Work on specialised, large-scale builds (not repetitive light work)

• A stable, growing company with long-term career pathways

• A team that values skill, reliability, and quality work

Ready for a Better Role?
If you’re an experienced Spray Painter who knows your value — and you’re looking for a role where your skills are recognised and rewarded — we want to hear from you.
