The Role
The successful applicant will ideally have experience in delivering a vibrant Performing Arts programme from Years Pre-Primary to Year Six. Ideally, you should be a committed, professional and collaborative Performing Arts Teacher. Applicants with excellent interpersonal and communication skills are highly desired as those attributes are integral to developing effective relationships with students, staff, and parents. The ability to engage and collaborate with teachers and teaching teams to lead other staff in delivering an engaging and dynamic Performing Arts curriculum is also highly desirable.
Ideally, we are seeking someone who is a team player who would be able to promote Performing Arts within the school and broader community. Ideally, you will be committed to professional development and continuous improvement to facilitate a best‑practice approach towards teaching and learning whilst providing a rich, evidence‑based curriculum.
Mindarie PS has three choirs, a senior choir consisting of students from year five and six, a year four choir and a year three choir. The successful applicant should have the capacity to develop student’s choral skills and their capacity to perform at school‑based events such as the ANZAC Service and broader community events such as One big Voice.
Mindarie PS has a strong instrumental program which is facilitated by teachers from the School of Instrumental Music. The successful applicant would be required to liaise with these teachers and the SIMs to facilitate the program at the school.
Although a significant portion of the teaching load would be Performing Arts, applicants would be willing to display a proven flexibility to teach other arts subjects and within other learning areas.
