Overview
Solution Engineer, Expansion - Melbourne. Snowflake is building a data cloud platform and a team to help customers understand and utilize its value. The Solution Engineer will work with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to provide technical expertise that enables Snowflake customers to be successful. This role requires a broad range of skills from data architecture to ETL / ELT, security, performance analysis, and analytics, plus the ability to translate a customer’s business problems into Snowflake solutions. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, stays up to date on evolving data and analytics technologies, and collaborates across teams.
Responsibilities
- Present Snowflake technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospects and customers
- Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate Snowflake value throughout the sales cycle (demo, proof of concept, design, and implementation)
- Maintain a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors and position Snowflake accordingly
- Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake’s products and marketing
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 6 years of experience working with customers in a technical pre-sales roleOutstanding skills presenting to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or through presentations and demosUnderstanding of the complete data stack and workflow, from ETL to data platform design to BI and analytics toolsStrong skills in databases, data warehouses, and data processingHands-on expertise with SQL and SQL analyticsStrongly Desired
Strong Data Science / AI / ML experience across a variety of platformsExperience and track record of success selling data and / or analytics software to enterprise customers; includes proven skills identifying key stakeholders, winning value propositions, and compelling eventsData Science knowledge and experienceExtensive knowledge of large-scale database technology (e.g. Netezza, Exadata, Teradata, Greenplum, etc.)Software development experience with C / C++ or JavaScripting experience with Python, Ruby, Perl, BashUniversity degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experienceAdded Bonus
