About The Role

Are you passionate about passing on your trade skills and shaping the next generation of plumbers? Join Swinburne’s Trades, Engineering and Technology team and help inspire, engage, and educate our students for the future of the plumbing industry.

At Swinburne, our VET Teachers play a vital role in preparing students for real-world success. As part of a collaborative and supportive team, you’ll design and deliver high-quality, industry-aligned training that reflects current best practice and the latest learning technologies.

You’ll work with learners from a range of backgrounds and experience levels — from Certificate 11 to Certificate IV — adapting your approach to meet diverse needs and aspirations.

We’re growing and are now seeking passionate and qualified Plumbing Teachers to help us meet increased student demand in 2026 and beyond. You’ll predominantly teach and assess units from our CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing and Plumbing Skill Sets (Cert IV level).

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring :

  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or higher equivalent
  • Plumbing qualifications and significant industry experience
  • A passion for education and a demonstrated ability to deliver engaging, innovative training in a variety of learning modes
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment for students from all walks of life
  • Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Ongoing industry currency and a proactive approach to professional development
  • Solid computer and digital literacy skills, including use of email, databases, and learning management systems
  • Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 (or higher equivalent)
  • Qualified Plumber with significant experience
