The Role This role reports directly to the General Manager – Retail, and with a team of two Assistant State Sales Managers (one in WA and one in SA). You will drive the performance and profitability of the 26 stores across WA, SA and NT.
Critical to your success, will be your ability to :
Motivate and inspire your team to grow retail and trade salesDeliver operational efficiency and consistency across all storesInstill a high-performance culture across the store teamsClosely partner with Store Support stakeholders to continuously improve the region's operations and salesKey responsibilities will include : Achieving sales, stock, expense and profit contribution budgetsDriving KPIs in your team, by developing, coaching, training and retaining a team of quality managers and team members in each storeUnderstanding the local market whilst seeking opportunities to make industry contacts, drive sales performance and ultimately grow the businessSupporting and driving success in specialist areas, including our lighting design studiosSupporting the strategic activities focused on growing trade sales and market shareDriving an in-store customer service culture by ensuring expert service levels and store merchandising standards are maintainedBeing an ambassador for Beacon Lighting's vision, mission and core valuesChampioning safety in the regionCompleting regular store visits to ensure standards are consistently maintained across all stores. This includes frequent travel interstate.About You An experienced state, regional or area manager you have an extensive background in multi-site retail operations. Exposure to diverse customer environments which include transactional retail consumers as well as high frequency VIP trade customers will be highly advantageous. Your strong analytical skills, and proven business acumen and experience in operations are key to your success. You are a strategic planner who is decisive and proactive, developing long term business strategies in order to achieve business goals.
A natural leader, you build your teams effectively, motivating and inspiring others to achieve their best and execute strategies. With a positive attitude, exceptional interpersonal skills and clear communication skills, you provide effective feedback to manage and drive performance. Motivated to achieve results, you seek out opportunities to continually improve your skills and you have a genuine desire to learn.
You are also prepared to work occasional weekends, travel locally and interstate as required to conduct store visits, attend meetings and conferences.
As this is an important role in our business, we want to reward you accordingly. A very attractive salary package is on offer, including a base salary, car allowance (with option to do novated lease arrangement).
