About the role
We are looking to welcome a Workforce Operations Coordinator to join our People & Culture Team.
Reporting to the Workforce Planning & Development Manager, you will play a key role in the planning, delivery and coordination of our event workforce. Our event workforce consists of over 800 customer service, security and operations team members who are the face of our organisation and bring our events to life!
Our buzzing precinct operates seven days a week. As such, we structure our team to ensure we provide adequate support to our Venues and the events we host.
This role is permanent, full time and will work a standard working week (5 days) on a flexible basis across Monday – Sunday in line with our event calendar.
This role is an exciting and unique career opportunity for someone looking to kickstart their career in Event Management and / or Human Resource Management.
Here are some of the game-changing things you will have the opportunity to be involved in :
Workforce Scheduling
Across our five Venues (Rod Laver Arena, AAMI Park, John Cain Arena, Margaret Court Arena and CENTREPIECE) we will roster anywhere between ten and four hundred team members per event depending on what events we are hosting. Add in the Australian Open and this increases to over two thousand for one of the most recognisable and exciting major events in the world.
Event Day Workforce Operations
You will be the face of our Workforce Operations team and will support the delivery of our exciting events by attending event days. It will be your responsibility to ensure our workforce are checked in, have everything they need and are set up to deliver the best service to our customers!
Workforce Development Projects
To ensure our workforce are skilled, knowledgeable, equipped, and work-ready there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes. You will be instrumental in supporting key projects such as : recruitment, learning and development, management of equipment, amenities and uniforms, upholding performance standards, and policy and process development.
What you will bring to the role :
You can balance competing demands like a pro
You are detail orientated but also appreciate the importance of keeping your eye on the bigger picture. A fast pace, ‘lots of balls in the air’ kind of environment is one you thrive in – and it is your time management and organisational skills that keep you on track.
You strive to continuously improve
Innately, you are driven to do ‘better.’ You look for better ways of doing things that balance process improvements with an improved guest and workforce experience. From a process perspective – efficiency is your end goal.
The Customer is at the heart of everything you do
You care deeply about the people experience. Whether it is an Event Manager planning their workforce needs, an event workforce team member managing their upcoming shifts, or a guest coming to see their favourite artist at one of our venues - you consider their experience at every level.
You love little bit of lots of things
In our fast-paced, excitingly complex, and GROWING organisation – no one day is the same. To thrive, you will love jumping into things that might not necessarily be ‘in your job description.’ You seek out these opportunities for your own growth and development.
