An exciting opportunity for a Senior Communications Manager to join a government adjacent organisation, driving major reform and strategy initiatives. You’ll lead high-impact communications across enterprise agreements, diversity strategies, and policy refreshes. Collaborate with senior leaders to shape meaningful change within a flexible, national team environment.

What you'll do :

As Senior Communications Manager, you will be instrumental in driving forward a suite of transformative projects within People & Culture. You will take ownership of both strategic planning and hands-on delivery—crafting engaging content, managing campaigns across multiple channels, and ensuring every message supports organisational values.

  • Develop comprehensive communication strategies that align with organisational objectives and support the successful delivery of key projects within People & Culture.
  • Provide expert strategic advice to senior stakeholders on all aspects of internal and external communications.
  • Lead the planning and execution of multi-channel communication campaigns to ensure clear messaging and strong engagement across diverse audiences.
  • Oversee the launch of new initiatives such as the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan, ensuring messaging is accessible, inclusive, and resonates with all stakeholders.
  • Work closely with project teams to identify communication needs, develop tailored content, and manage timelines for effective campaign rollouts.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of communication activities through feedback mechanisms and analytics, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Support crisis communications as required, ensuring timely, accurate information is shared with relevant parties.
  • Champion best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout all communications activities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to maximise reach and impact of key messages.

What you bring :

Your background should include partnering closely with executive teams on complex change initiatives—particularly those involving policy development or workforce transformation. You are adept at translating organisational goals into clear action plans while remaining sensitive to cultural nuances around diversity and inclusion.

  • Extensive experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans within large or complex organisations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in advising senior leaders on communication approaches for sensitive or high-profile projects such as enterprise agreements or policy reforms.
  • Proven ability to lead end-to-end campaign management—from initial concept through to execution—across digital, print, and face-to-face channels.
  • Strong writing skills with an aptitude for creating accessible content tailored to diverse audiences including those from under-represented groups.
  • A deep understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion principles as they relate to internal communications strategies.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to build trust-based relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
  • Familiarity with measurement tools for evaluating communication effectiveness and using insights to refine future activity.
  • A collaborative approach that values teamwork, knowledge sharing, and supportive leadership within cross-functional environments.
