You will join a high-performing interdisciplinary research group, the Decision Support & Analytics Research Group (DSARG), with aims to innovate at the interface of artificial intelligence, production scheduling, and predictive maintenance. You will collaborate with the School of Systems & Computing, a hub of AI, Cyber, and Systems Engineering experts.
About the Project and the Role :
Ocius Technology and UNSW Canberra are partnering on a project to scale up production of Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs). Supported by Defence Trailblazer funding, the project develops an integrated production and maintenance facility, along with an AI-powered logistics support framework, led by Dr. Ripon K. Chakrabortty, Founder & Leader of DSARG, UNSW Canberra.
The Ocius Bluebottle USV fleet uses renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and wave power, providing economic and operational benefits over traditional methods. Ocius supplies the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), and this project aims to support Australia’s security by increasing production capacity and strengthening the sovereign supply chain.
Under the direction of the UNSW project lead, the Research Associate will undertake technical tasks related to flexible workspace layout design and AI-based predictive maintenance models.
