Lawyers – Program Delivery and Corporate
Apply for the Lawyers – Program Delivery and Corporate role at the Cross River Rail Delivery Authority (CRRDA).
CRRDA is building a 10.2km rail line with 5.9km of triple tunnels under Brisbane, with four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street. The project will unlock a bottleneck in the SEQ Rail network, allowing more trains to run through Brisbane’s core.
In addition to the rail works, CRRDA is delivering supporting projects in partnership with the Department of Transport and Main Road, including accessibility rebuilds, new stations on the Gold Coast, stabling yard upgrades, track works, surface rail enhancements, and a new ETCS digital signalling system.
About the Roles
Two fixed‑term contract positions (until late 2028) are available, both suited to early‑career lawyers (up to 3 years PQE).
- Program Delivery Lawyer – Provide timely, high‑quality legal advice on project delivery, contract review, legal research, and risk identification. Responsibilities include drafting contracts and governance documents, supporting dispute resolution, and coordinating with internal teams.
- Corporate Lawyer – Support the Corporate Legal team on land access, tenure, and regulatory matters, including legal advice, compliance, and land tenure finalisation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide practical legal advice on project delivery and contract matters.Support legal risk management with Program Delivery and Commercial teams.Conduct legal research and assist in drafting advice on delivery‑related issues.Review and draft contracts, legal correspondence, and governance documents.Contribute to contract management and dispute resolution processes.Prepare legal input for internal briefings and communications.Coordinate external legal services and foster internal knowledge sharing.Assist with land tenure arrangements and property‑related legal risks.Draft briefing papers and communications for the CEO, Minister, and Board.Support legislative compliance and review policy documents.Coordinate outside counsel and manage external legal services.Contribute to legal knowledge sharing and training.About You
Foundational experience in legal practice, ideally in infrastructure, construction, government, or property law.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft contracts, legal correspondence, and briefing materials in a fast‑paced environment.Sound legal research and analytical skills, with attention to detail and a practical problem‑solving approach.Ability to manage tasks independently, prioritise competing deadlines, and seek guidance when needed.Confidence in engaging with internal and external stakeholders.High ethical standards, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement.Admission (or imminent eligibility) as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland is required.Why Work with CRRDA?
