The Opportunity

Are you looking for the next step in your leadership career? This role will be involved with the Allied Health and Community directorate to participate, support and facilitate professional development and supervision. The Psychologist is responsible for providing assessment and intervention for individuals supported by the Samaritans Therapy and Behaviour Support Team (TaBS), including people with disability. This position will focus on building the capacity, skills and knowledge of the person, their families, and supporting services. The role is permanent part‑time (up to full‑time) and is based in Newcastle or the Central Coast. Service delivery occurs across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the Central Coast.

About You

  • Current AHPRA Registered Psychologist
  • Experience in pediatric psychological assessment and therapy, supporting NDIS participants and diagnostic assessments for children 0‑16 years
  • Knowledge of early intervention services for children 0‑8 years with a disability
  • Experience working with adults and supporting individuals living with a disability in diverse settings
  • Demonstrated history of trauma informed practice
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence‑based practice
  • Effective communication of recommended intervention strategies with stakeholders
  • High level interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of confidentiality principles and WHS responsibilities
  • Knowledge of diverse cultures and community needs
